AREA 54 Part Ways With Bassist, Seek Replacement
May 5, 2006Britain's AREA 54 have parted ways with bassist Laura Salmon. "For some time, Laura has been drifting apart from the rest of the band, and has decided to move on, as she doesn't like metal anymore, and wants to become a long distance lorry driver!" the group write in a statement.

AREA 54's as-yet-untitled third album is tentatively due later in the year. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "My Hate" and "Losing Grip".
AREA 54's sophomore full-length effort, "Beckoning of the End", was released in April 2003 through Casket Records. The album, which was produced by Dave Chang, featured a guest appearance from ex-AT THE GATES/THE CROWN vocalist Tomas Lindberg. The band were previously signed to Dreamcatcher Records.
